Can China be removed from United Nations Security Council?

If India can replace China in UNSC then it would be a major development in geopolitics both for Asia and the world. To do such a thing, China needs to be removed from UNSC, but can it be done? Well, nothing has been mentioned about removing the members (permanent and non-permanent) of UNSC in the UN charter. Thus, the legal ways to remove China are: Amendment in Chapter 18th of the UN Charter , with 2/3 vote of General Assembly and all permanent members of UNSC, to install a provision to remove a member of UNSC It is obvious that China will veto such a provision until it threatens his membership. As per article 6 of the UN Charter, if any member nation is violating the principles consistently then that nation can be removed from the UNGA and thus automatically from the UNSC if it is a member. Again the caveat here is that it requires the recommendation of UNSC, of which China is a member and obviously it won’t help in its own removal. This is not a legal metho...

Phones Cheaper than Android Smartphones

In India, there are some phones even cheaper than Android, such as: Feature phones from brands like Lava, Karbonn, Micromax, Nokia etc., which are only good for calling, sending important texts and enjoying music. Smart feature phones which are based on KaiOS such as Jio Phone 1,2, Nokia 8110 etc. This new OS supports 3G and 4G too, which are unavailable in traditional feature phones. Moreover, you can also watch movies, surf the internet, text over WhatsApp an FB etc. on KaiOS based phones. In India, instead of buying a traditional feature phone, one should buy a Smart-feature phone, due to more features at the same price. Source: Google images

Lava Pay: Cashless Payments without Internet

Lava Pay  is a payment app launched by an old Indian Smartphone brand Lava , which provides payment services without the use of internet on the feature phones. It has been aimed for the 500 Million Indians who don’t have access to internet services and thus are bound to use the traditional cash-based method of payment and offline banking services. Customers will get this application preloaded in their new Lava feature phones or can get it installed in the old ones from the services centres. The respective banks will setup the UPI ID for the consumers, using which will be used for the payment services via this app, thus P2P transaction made possible. The rest of the process is the same as that of traditional UPI based payment services, requiring a phone number, passcode and the final confirmation message. Image source: Lava.

Social media and privacy? What is the right way of regulating social media?

Social media are the platforms, precisely applications, and websites that use the internet and electronic gadgets to bring people together and interact with each other without physically being together. Such interactions lead to the sharing of ideas, knowledge, opinions and definitely the awareness about recent trends and events. Privacy, a fundamental right refers to a state of being free from public attention. Privacy and internet have an inverse relation, before the invention of internet which is basically the driving force of social media, the only means to know about a person’s well being were phone calls, letters and meeting in person.  Now the tables have turned, a person does that using social media, no interaction is required. People are posting their every activity on social media eating a pizza, attending a marriage, studying, everything is on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp. So, as the internet and hence social media penetrates the masses, the exten...

Oppo and Vivo: The Truth

Oppo and Vivo are twins indeed!. It is so because they have the same parent company known as BBK Electronics. They both are known for their camera quality [the selfies] and that’s it! Everything else is just average. Hence, they’re overpriced. But some of their flagships are worth buying like Vivo NEX, Oppo Find X, Oppo K1 and similar phones which have unveiled some unique features. Actually, Oppo and Vivo phones are used for feature testing. They offer new and innovative technologies to the users, and the most popular of them gets incorporated into their elder sister aka One Plus. Yes, you read it right, One Plus is their sister company and offers one of the best smartphones in the market which are definitely worth the price. One Plus phones are worth the price but Oppo and Vivo aren’t. Recently, Oppo had a child and it is known the RealMe , but now it is a separate brand under the same parent i.e. BBK Electronics. The phones offered under this brand are de...

Galaxy M30: An upcoming hero

Samsung has recently unveiled its new series of Smartphones, the Galaxy M series for under 15000 INR price range. As of now only M10 and M20 have entered into the market with pretty competitive features!. But the recent leaks of the new member in the family Galaxy M30 has caused a maelstrom in the market. Source: Best Price Comparison Shopping Site in India - Pricekart.com As we can see the specifications are as follows: Triple Camera [ 16MP (FC) / 13+5+5 MP (RC) ] Infinity V notch AMOLED display Type C port. And probably a battery of 5000 mAh. In my opinion finally, Samsung has started taking middle-class Indian consumers seriously. The already present J series is not worth the money, a consumer can easily get a better one from Redmi, ASUS, RealMe etc. But if this phone will come under 15000 INR, then it can do wonders in the market and challenge the top brands in this section.

Keep Documents and Notes On the GO

I like to keep things as much light as possible and hence I try to keep everything on my phone. Over the time of my student life, I have tried and tested many applications to keep notes on my phone but the best ones are: Google Keep : Developed by Google itself, it is really an advantageous app. I use it to synchronize my bookmarks and notes on my phone and my laptop. It is available as an extension for Chrome for PC and as an application on Android. CamScanner : This app is available for free and with in-app purchases. I use it to scan pages into e-documents and save them as PDF. There are several other apps analogous to CamScanner like: Adobe Scan Office Lens Google Drive inbuilt scanner These apps are pretty good with their features but the convenience is not at-par when compared to CamScanner.
